Newsletter 5 - October 2006

I promised when I wrote to you in June that I’d be in touch again about Christmas and Hogmanay – I had intended this to be around August but we were so busy from the end of the World Cup right up to this last weekend that I just didn’t get round to it. Still that has to be a good reason – at least from our point of view.

So, the summer was good despite pretty awful weather up here right through August, we saw a lot of visitors from Germany – probably escaping post football.

The last week of the fishing season saw excellent water levels and a number of fish caught. Congratulations to Ralph McLafferty for catching the biggest fish of the season at 12 lbs and to Austin Wood for the biggest fish caught by a resident in the last week of the season (10¾ lbs) – both your names will be on the appropriate shields by next season.

So, on to the future and specifically Christmas and New Year. The House Party format was so successful when we ran it in 2003 and 2004 that we’ve decided to do it again.

Christmas is a 3 night break and Hogmanay 2 nights, as before. The price per person is £225 for Christmas and £180 for Hogmanay. Please phone or email for a brochure.

Numbers are strictly limited so ‘first come first served’.

Rob & I look forward to celebrating the festive season with you.
